Over the past 24 hours, Israeli forces have conducted four massacres against Palestinian families, killing at least 97 people.
Doctors without Borders (MSF) stated that at least 70 bodies and 300 injured people were transported to the only hospital still functioning in the central Gaza Strip, Al Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir Al Balah.
The hospital has been overwhelmed, dealing with “a huge influx of patients, many of them arriving with severe burns, shrapnel wounds, fractures and other traumatic injuries,” according to the posts on X by Doctors without Borders.
Karin Huster, Doctors Without Borders' medical adviser in Gaza, described the scene at the hospital: “The odour of blood in the hospital's emergency room this morning was unbearable. People are lying everywhere, on the floor, outside ... bodies were being brought in plastic bags.”
She described the "insane escalation of hostilities" across the Gaza Strip, calling the situation "apocalyptic."
The Israeli occupation forces said earlier that they are conducting new air and ground operations in central Gaza focusing on Deir Al Balah and the Bureij refugee camp.
Tens of thousands of residents of the Bureij and Maghazi refugee camps in the central Gaza Strip fled to areas they believe are safe, as the Israeli occupation army began a ground invasion.
Designated safe zones have been repeatedly changed by Israel as attacks on refugee camps and supposed safe zones have intensified in the strip, with around 1.7 million Palestinians being internally displaced since the start of this Israeli war on Gaza, and with the grim shadow of starvation looming over the strip threatening the lives of more than 1 million Palestinians.
Since 7 October, Israel has been waging a large-scale war on the Gaza Strip, killing at least 36,550 Palestinians, mostly women and children.
