A family of eight, including four children, their parents, and two grandparents, were among those killed in an overnight Israeli strike on a building where displaced people were sheltering in Beit Lahia, according to Kamal Adwan Hospital, which received the casualties on Wednesday.

"At least 22 people were martyred in the massacre committed by the occupation military after it bombed a house belonging to the Abu al-Tarabish family near Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza," Gaza's civil defence spokesman Mahmud Bassal told AFP.

Bassal added that an Israeli jet fired three missiles at the house around midnight.

The strike completely destroyed the three-storey building, which was housing about 30 displaced people.

Medical sources reported that several people still remain trapped under the rubble as rescue and civil defence teams have been unable to reach them.

Another strike in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza killed at least seven people, according to the Awda Hospital. Records show that the dead included two children, their parents, and three relatives.

Israel's forces have continued their aggression on the Gaza Strip by land, sea, and air since 7 October 2023, killing at least 44,786 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injuring 106,188 others.

Thousands of victims remain trapped under the rubble and in the streets, with rescue teams unable to reach them.
