"The forced displacement and eviction of people from their land can only be called ethnic cleansing," the AL general secretariat said in a statement.
"The just Palestinian cause is fundamentally about land and people," added the AL.
"Attempts to uproot the Palestinian people from their land—whether through displacement, annexation, or settlement expansion—have proven futile in the past. Such actions are rejected and constitute violations of international law."
The AL added that the true and only path to achieving stability and peace in the Middle East is to resolve the Palestinian issue and implement the internationally agreed two-state solution.
"This entails establishing a Palestinian state along 4 June, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital," read the text.
The General Secretariat called on all nations that believe in the two-state solution as a path to peace to work diligently and urgently to initiate a credible process toward achieving and implementing this solution on the ground at the earliest opportunity.
