In conjunction with its assault on Jenin, Israeli occupation forces killed two Palestinians and injured three others on Monday in Tulkarm in the occupied West Bank.

According to WAFA news agency, Ramiz Damiri and Ihab Abu Atiwi were killed in an Israeli drone strike targeting a vehicle at the entrance of Nur Shams camp, east of Tulkarm.

The Tulkarm attack comes as Israeli Channel 14 reported on Monday that Israel's political leadership has authorized the expansion of its ongoing military operations in Jenin to other areas of the West Bank.

For the seventh consecutive day, the Israeli occupation persists in its assault on the city of Jenin and its refugee camp, resulting in 16 deaths, numerous injuries, and widespread destruction.

Jenin Governor Kamel Abu Rab confirmed that approximately 20 homes had been destroyed by the occupation. He also revealed that Israeli forces divided the camp into four sections by demolishing streets and blowing up and burning houses.

The Israeli army has been reinforcing its military presence, supported by bulldozers, in Jenin. Military vehicles are stationed outside Jenin Governmental Hospital, while warplanes and drones intensify their air activity overhead.

Dr Wissam Abu Bakr, director of Jenin Governmental Hospital, said that the destruction of the main road and the positioning of military vehicles obstruct the medical team's work.

"On the second day of the incursion, the occupation bulldozed the hospital entrance and blocked access with dirt mounds, making it difficult to enter or leave. On the third day, we began clearing the barricades to restore access," Abu Bakr told WAFA news agency.

The United Nations voiced serious concerns Friday over the Israeli military's use of force during its raid this week in the West Bank, including methods "developed for warfighting."

"We are deeply concerned by the use of unlawful lethal force in Jenin, in the occupied West Bank," UN human rights office spokesman Thameen Al-Kheetan told a media briefing in Geneva.

Repressive measures

In another aggression, Israeli forces tightened their repressive measures in the occupied city of Jerusalem on Monday.

Local sources reported that the occupation forces intensified security checks at the gates of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, particularly at the Gate of the Chain, following the arrival of thousands of Palestinians from Jerusalem and the 1948 territories to mark the occasion of Isra and Mi'raj at Al-Aqsa.

The sources also added that Israeli soldiers detained several young men near the Damascus Gate and around the Old City. Meanwhile, several extremist settlers performed provocative Talmudic rituals near the Iron Gate.
