Qatar on Sunday condemned Israel for blocking aid deliveries into the Gaza Strip, calling it a “blatant violation” of the truce and international law, as Tel Aviv sought to extend the first phase of the deal while avoiding second-phase talks on a permanent ceasefire and Israeli withdrawal from the strip.

"Qatar strongly condemns the decision of the Israeli occupation government to stop bringing humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, and considers it a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement, (and) international humanitarian law," the Gulf state's foreign ministry said in a statement adding its "rejection of the use of food as a weapon of war".

The ministry called on the international community to hold Israel accountable for its violations and ensure the "safe, continuous, and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to all areas of the Gaza Strip."

Qatar also reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of an independent state within the 1967 borders, encompassing the West Bank and Gaza Strip, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
