The consignment was organized by Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in partnership with the Al-Khidmat Foundation, following the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Pakistani embassy in Cairo said in a statement.

Officials from the embassy received the cargo and handed it over to the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC), which is responsible for transferring aid into the besieged enclave.

Islamabad said the delivery forms part of its ongoing humanitarian effort for Palestinians in Gaza.

With this latest shipment, Pakistan’s total aid to the territory has reached 1,915 tonnes, with further consignments expected in the coming days.
