"It is now crucial that all parties commit to an agreement and its implementation... He once again reiterates his call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire," Farhan Haq, a spokesman for Guterres, said in a statement.

Trump’s plan calls for a ceasefire, release of captives by Hamas within 72 hours, disarmament of Hamas and gradual Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, followed by a post-war transitional authority headed by Trump himself.

The White House presented the plan on Monday as a unified package backed by Israel, the United States and Arab partners, while behind the scenes, the document differed significantly from the version previously negotiated with Arab mediators.

Hamas said Tuesday it will discuss US President Donald Trump’s new plan for Gaza within the group and with other Palestinian factions before responding.
