In the video, Al-Hayya spoke about the death of his son, Hammam Al-Hayya, who was killed in the same attack.
“There is no difference between any martyr in Gaza and my own son,” Al-Hayya said on the assassination attempt that claimed the lives of his son, his office director, and several aides.
On 9 September, an Israeli airstrike hit residential buildings in Doha, where senior members of Hamas’ political bureau were meeting to discuss a US-backed ceasefire proposal for Gaza.
While top Hamas officials survived the strike, five members of the group’s negotiating team and a Qatari internal security officer were killed.
Last week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu apologized to Qatar in a phone call from the White House, attended by US President Donald Trump.
Netanyahu expressed regret over the violation of Qatar's sovereignty and pledged that Israel would refrain from any future strikes on Qatari territory.
Later, President Trump signed an executive order declaring that any attack on Qatar would be considered an attack on the US national security.
