The convoy carried urgent aid, including 42,000 food parcels, 650 tons of relief supplies, and 1,290 tons of fuel to keep hospitals and vital facilities operating in Gaza, according to a statement by the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC).
The shipment, sent under the “Zad Al-Ezza: From Egypt to Gaza” initiative, also included vital winter supplies to help ease Palestinians’ suffering amid harsh weather conditions, the ERC said.
These included 6,600 clothing items, 1,600 blankets, and more than 500 tents to shelter families displaced by continued Israeli airstrikes across the strip.
Moreover, the ERC received the 29th group of wounded Palestinians and patients, along with their companions, and facilitated their crossing procedures on the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing. It also saw off those returning to the strip after completing their treatment.
Its teams also distributed hot meals and “return kits” for those returning to Gaza, as part of Egypt’s continued support for Palestinians affected by the war.
The efforts come as Gaza faces a critical lack of food, clean water, and healthcare services, amid ongoing Israeli bombardment and widespread destruction.
Since the outbreak of Israel's genocidal war in October 2023, the Gaza population has faced worsening humanitarian conditions, with hunger spreading rapidly and basic needs becoming increasingly scarce.
Despite a ceasefire agreement brokered by Egypt, the US, Qatar, and Turkey in October 2025, Israel has continued its war on Gaza, killing more than 72,000 Palestinians and wounding over 172,000 others, mostly women and children, in addition to aid workers.
On Tuesday, UNRWA outgoing chief Philippe Lazzarini called for an investigation into the killing of around 400 staff members in Gaza, saying Israel appeared to have “a licence to kill” in the strip, according to AFP.
“Many others have sustained life-changing injuries or have been arbitrarily detained and tortured,” Lazzarini told reporters in Geneva.
Regarding Israel’s conduct in the war, Lazzarini said that “all possible red lines have been crossed, and there have never been any consequences — whether diplomatic, political, economic, or legal.”
