According to the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC), the national coordination body for aid delivery to Gaza, the convoy was launched under the “Zad Al-Ezza… From Egypt to Gaza” initiative.

It carried sacrificial meat, food parcels, flour, medical supplies, relief materials, and fuel to keep hospitals and vital facilities operating in the Strip.

In addition, the ERC’s convoy carries basic needs for Gaza’s residents, including clothes and tents to shelter those displaced due to the Israeli strikes across the Strip.

The Egyptian aid convoy comes as part of Cairo's steadfast commitment to supporting the Palestinian people in Gaza amidst the Israeli genocide.

Since the start of the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza, Egypt has delivered nearly one million tonnes of humanitarian assistance to the Strip, representing around 70 percent of all aid sent to Gaza, supported by the efforts of over 65,000 volunteers.
