The fishermen were detained while working off the coast of Al-Zawaida after Israeli naval forces intercepted their boats and transferred them to an unknown location, local sources said.

Meanwhile, in Gaza City, the Israeli occupation targeted a tent on the beach via airstrike, killing one Palestinian and wounding others, according to Palestine Today’s correspondent.
Earlier in the day, an Israeli drone struck a group of people behind the Al-Shaer and Zannoun station, east of the Al-Attar junction in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis, killing one Palestinian and wounding others, medical officials at Nasser Hospital told Palestine Today. The hospital said it received one body and several wounded, including at least one person in critical condition.
Israeli occupation artillery also shelled western Rafah, while Israeli occupation naval vessels opened heavy fire offshore from Khan Younis, Palestinian media reported.
In northern Gaza, Israeli occupation forces opened fire toward displacement shelters near the Abu Rashid pool area west of Jabalia, while Israeli artillery shelled the area around Al-Quds Bank on Salah al-Din Street in the Zeitoun neighbourhood southeast of Gaza City, the reports said.
In remarks to Palestine Today, Palestinian officials said fishermen in Gaza have faced repeated Israeli restrictions and attacks, including gunfire and shelling, that have killed and wounded dozens and led to further arrests. They said many fishing boats had been destroyed during Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, forcing some fishermen to rely on small handmade vessels.
In an official statement on Tuesday, Palestinian resistance group Hamas reiterated that it remained committed to implementing the Gaza ceasefire agreement, which took effect on 10 October, and to transferring administrative responsibility for the territory to the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG).
Hamas said it had a "full commitment to implementing the Gaza Strip ceasefire agreement in all its provisions" and would continue acting "until the administration of the Gaza Strip is transferred in its entirety to the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza."
The group said the dissolution of the Gaza government emergency committee and the resignation of its chairman and acting head of government follow-up, Mohammed Abdel Khaleq al-Farra, were part of preparations to transfer administrative responsibilities to the committee.
The Palestinian resistance also warned of "continued attempts by the Zionist occupation" to obstruct the implementation of the agreement and "sabotage its course," referring to Israel.
According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, Israel has killed at least 1,072 Palestinians and wounded more than 3,463 others in Gaza since the truce took effect in October 2025.
The ministry said the overall number of Palestinians killed by Israel during its genocidal war on the Gaza Strip since October 2023 had reached at least 73,098, with 173,571 wounded.
