The convoy, sent early on Monday as part of the ERC’s role as Egypt’s national mechanism for coordinating aid to Gaza, also carried medicines and petroleum products needed to operate hospitals and other vital facilities in the strip.
At the Rafah crossing on Sunday, ERC teams received the 61st group of wounded, sick, and injured Palestinians entering Egypt and saw off those leaving the country, accompanying them through border procedures in cooperation with the ministries of health and social solidarity.
The organization said it provided the Palestinians and their companions with a comprehensive range of services at humanitarian centres in the crossing's arrival and departure halls.
These services included emergency relief, psychological support for children, restoring family links, meals, beverages, clothing, and personal care supplies.
The ERC said it has maintained a continuous presence at the border since the outbreak of the crisis, stressing that the Rafah crossing has never been closed from the Egyptian side.
It added that its logistics centres remain on high alert around the clock to facilitate aid deliveries and provide humanitarian support to Palestinians.
According to the organization, the total volume of humanitarian and relief assistance delivered to Gaza has exceeded one million tons since the war began, supported by over 65,000 ERC volunteers.
The latest Egyptian aid shipment comes as Israeli attacks continue across Gaza despite the ceasefire that took effect in October 2025.
On Sunday, an Israeli drone strike on a metal workshop in Gaza City and machine-gun fire in Al-Bureij refugee camp killed five Palestinians and wounded several others, according to Gaza’s civil defence agency and hospitals.
A day earlier, Palestinian hospitals received seven recovered bodies and 28 wounded people, while Israeli gunfire, drone strikes, artillery shelling, and demolition operations were reported across northern, central, and southern Gaza.
The number of bodies recovered from beneath the rubble since the ceasefire took effect had reached 799.
At least 1,098 Palestinians had been killed in Gaza since the ceasefire took effect, while Israel’s genocidal war on the strip since October 2023 had killed at least 73,110 people and wounded over 173,599, according to Gaza’s health ministry.
