Egypt comfortably secured a 2-0 win over Tanzania at Cairo Stadium, with both teams using the match as preparation for the tournament.
Trabzonspor winger Mahmoud 'Trezeguet' Hassan opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, while Mohamed Salah added the second goal from a penalty in the 73rd minute.
"We delivered a convincing performance against a defensively-minded side like Tanzania," Vitoria said during the post-match news conference.
"The playing style of Tanzania is similar to what we expect from our Nations Cup opponents, Mozambique."
Egypt is set to begin their Nations Cup campaign on Sunday 14 January, against Mozambique in the opening match of Group B, which also includes Ghana and Cape Verde.
The Portuguese coach also emphasized that the most important thing for him is that the game did not result in any injuries for his players, as the team is scheduled to travel to Ivory Coast on Tuesday.
In the preceding days, Ahmed 'Koka' Nabil and Ossama Galal suffered injuries and were subsequently excluded from the squad, making way for Mohanad Lasheen and Yasser Ibrahim.
Vitoria stressed his awareness that the competition in the upcoming Nations Cup will be very tough, highlighting the importance of all players giving their best in the continental competition in order to go as far as possible.
