Kamal, who plays for Modern Future FC, was substituted in the 79th minute of Egypt’s 2-0 win at Cairo Stadium, sparking fears that he might miss the African Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire later this month.
“Kamal’s injury is not serious and he is ready to play in the upcoming matches,” team's doctor Mohamed Abou El-Ela told reporters after the game.
“He was replaced as a precaution to avoid any complications,” he added.
In the preceding days, Ahmed 'Koka' Nabil and Ossama Galal suffered injuries and were subsequently excluded from the squad, making way for Mohanad Lasheen and Yasser Ibrahim.
Egypt, who are seeking their eighth continental title, will head to Côte d’Ivoire on Tuesday.
They were drawn in Group B, which also includes Mozambique, Ghana and Cape Verde.
