Teams arrive in Cote d’Ivoire as AFCON 2023 approaches

As the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) draws near, participants are making their way to Cote d’Ivoire, where 24 teams will compete for the coveted title.

Morocco and Guinea Bissau were the first teams to arrive in Cote d'Ivoire for the tournament on Sunday, which will be held from 13 January to 11 February.

Tanzania is expected to arrive later on Monday, while title holders Senegal and runners-up Egypt are scheduled to arrive on Tuesday.

The continental tournament will kick off with a Group A match between hosts Cote d'Ivoire and Guinea Bissau on Saturday, 13 January.

In Group A, three-time AFCON winners Nigeria will face Equatorial Guinea on Sunday, completing the group lineup.

Football fans around the globe can look forward to three matches per day throughout the group stage, with the schedule intensifying to four matches per day during the final round of group stage games.
