The Namibia game was Ghana’s last preparatory game ahead of kicking off the prestigious continental football tournament scheduled to take place from 13 January to 11 February in Cote d’Ivoire.

Under the guidance of coach Chris Hughton, the Black Stars secured only one win in their last five games, beating Madagascar, meanwhile losing three times against Mexico, USA, and Comoros.

In the AFCON 2023 tournament, the four-time African champions Ghana have been placed in Group B alongside Egypt, Cape Verde, and Mozambique.

Their campaign will kick off on 14 January against Cape Verde, followed by a match against Egypt on 18 January, and a game against Mozambique on 22 January.

Namibia is competing in the prestigious competition in Group E alongside Mali, South Africa, and Tunisia.
