The 27-year-old, who currently plays for Manchester United, has reportedly chosen to feature in a Premier League game against Tottenham on Sunday, just one day before the Guinea match.
According to the reports, this decision was approved by Samuel Eto'o, the president of the Cameroonian Football Federation.
Initially, Onana had intended to fly to Ivory Coast after the Spurs clash to join his national team in time for the Guinea match, but he has now decided not to participate.
A source close to iNews stated, "Andre is committed to playing for his country, he wouldn't be there if he wasn't."
Onana had previously retired from international football following a fallout with Cameroon coach and Eto'o over his playing style, which led to him being sent home from the 2022 World Cup.
However, he later reversed his decision under pressure from the Cameroonian president.
Onana joined Manchester United from Inter Milan last summer and has been the first-choice between the sticks for coach Erik ten Hag.
Although he has had a somewhat unsteady performance, with the Red Devils conceding 45 goals in 29 matches across all competitions, he remains an important player for the club.
