The Pharaohs have been drawn in Group B alongside Ghana, Mozambique, and Cape Verde.
“The African Cup is a difficult competition and our target is to win the title. We want to win every single game, but this won’t happen if we didn’t fight and take every game seriously,” the Nantes striker said in a press conference on Saturday.
“To win the title you shouldn’t look farther than the next game,” he added.
Egypt will launch their campaign against Mozambique on Sunday 14 January, before facing Ghana four days later, with Cape Verde set to be their last group fixture on 22 January.
The 26-year old Mohamed refused to underestimate the opening game opponent, hailing the existence of team skipper and Liverpool star winger Mohamed Salah.
“There is no easy game as the African football developed a lot,” the former Zamalek player said.
“We are lucky for having a player with a big value like Mohamed Salah as he helps the team with his experiences. We are all united and fighting together to fulfill our dream,” he concluded.
Egypt are looking to claim their 8th title and first since 2010.
