Equatorial Guinea s coach Juan Micha
"Our mission is far from over; there is still much work to be done," Micha declared in a post-match interview.
Acknowledging that it is only the beginning of the group stage, Micha emphasized, "We are just getting started. Our aim is to progress to the next stage, and then we will assess our options."
Next on Equatorial Guinea's agenda is a clash against Guinea-Bissau in the second round of Group A matches on Thursday.
A victory against the Djurtus would provide Micha and his team with a solid chance of advancing to the round of 16.
Having failed to progress beyond the group stage in their three previous AFCON appearances, the Nzalang Nacional will be eager to break the pattern and secure a spot in the knockout phase this time around in Cote d'Ivoire.
