Broos emphasized the surprises encountered throughout AFCON Cote d'Ivoire 2023, stating during a press conference on Monday: "This tournament has been full of surprises, as we've seen from the start."
The Bafana Bafana are scheduled to face Morocco on Tuesday at Laurant Pokou Stadium in Cote d'Ivoire.
In the qualifiers last June, South Africa defeated Morocco 2-1, handing the Atlas Lions their only loss in their 12 matches since their impressive fourth-place finish in the 2022 World Cup.
"We already beat Morocco a year ago, and we can do it again," added Broos, displaying unwavering confidence in his team's abilities.
South Africa finished second in Group E with four points, while Morocco topped Group F with seven points, securing their place in the knockout stage.
"Anything is possible, and we want to create another surprise in this competition," Broos stated, reflecting his team's determination.
"We're confident, we believe in ourselves and in what we can do. I think we'll have to approach this match with the same mindset we've had recently, but I want us to perform at a very high level," concluded the South Africa coach.
Throughout the ongoing edition of AFCON, notable teams such as Tunisia, Algeria, and Ghana were eliminated during the group stage.
Cameroon and Egypt were also eliminated in the round of 16.
