Swiss side Basel have extended the contract of their Egyptian midfielder Mohamed El-Neny for another season to be valid until 30 June 2018.
The 21-year-old winger El-Neny had extended his stay with Basel in January 2013 to be finished on 30 June 2017, but on Sunday the Swiss side extended his contract for another season.
"FC Basel are pleased to announce the contract extension with their Egyptian midfielder Mohamed El-Neny," read a statement on the Swiss club's official website.
"The new contract is valid until June 30, 2018," the statement added.
El-Neny helped Basel to win the Swiss league last season and they will take part in the UEFA Champions League next season. He joined Basel from Egyptian side Arab Contractors in January 2013.
"Mohamed El-Neny signed contracts with Basel in January 2013 until June 2017; the club extended his stay for another season on August 9, 2014 by one year," the statement said.
