Sporting Lisbon coach Marco Silva revealed that he will be patient on the performance of Egypt defender Rami Rabia as he still in the development position and needs time to improve his play.
Rabia, who joined Sporting in the close season from Ahly, was hit with an abdominal injury shortly after joining the Portuguese giants and has yet to make a competitive appearance for his new club.
The 21-year-old defender is now expected be included in Sporting's squad for the game against Pacos de Ferreira in the Portuguese League on Sunday.
"We make changes in the defence according to the players' condition," Silva said at the pre-game press conference.
"Last week we changed the full defence due to injuries and suspension," he added.
The tactician explained that Rabia’s injury has affected his performance.
Rabia has been included in Egypt Olympic team squad to prepare for the 2015 CAF Championship qualifiers.
The CAF U-23 Championship, which qualifies teams for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, will be held in Congo DR in December.
