After claiming his first title with Egyptian giants Ahly, Spanish coach Juan Carlos Garrido has showed gratitude to his technical staff for supporting him to win the CAF Confederation Cup title on Saturday.

Ahly managed to win their first-ever Confederation Cup title - thanks to a 96th minute header from veteran striker Emad Meteb at Cairo Stadium which handed them the trophy on the away-goal rule as they lost 2-1 at Sewe Sport in Ivory Coast.

The 45-year-old coach Garrido sent a thank you message to all people that supported him in winning the trophy with Ahly on his Twitter account after the game.

He shared his own photo with Ahly football director Wael Gomaa carrying the African trophy as he wrote "Wael Gomaa... Learning from you how to win trophies ... Shokran (thank you)."

Then he shared a photo with Ahly's assistant coach Alaa Abdel-Sadeq saying "Alaa... Shokran"

Garrido also shared a photo for Ahly fans in the stadium for supporting the team throughout the game as he wrote that "Shokran! you did it for all of us!"

The former Villarreal and Real Betis coach Garrido was named Ahly coach last July. He achieved his first target with the Cairo giants by winning the CAF Confederation Cup on Saturday.
