Ahly's caretaker coach Abdel-Aziz "Zizo" Abdel-Shafy has stated that his team is ready for Zamalek in the Egypt Super Cup game taking place in UAE on Thursday.

"Of course there will be tactical changes in the squad," Zizo said at the prematch press conference Tuesday in Al-Ain, UAE.

Egypt's most successful team are facing criticism after failing to win a major tournament since 2004, having lost the Egyptian Premier League and Egypt Cup titles to their classic rivals Zamalek.

"I have been focussing on the psychological levels of the players and I thank the national team's technical staff for helping me in that matter," Zizo added.

Zizo is temporarily leading the team until the new Portuguese manager Jose Peseiro takes charge, as he was appointed following the sack of former coach Fathi Mabrouk. The team's board has been heavily criticised for choosing Peseiro.

Mabrouk was dismissed from his job after Ahly failed to defend their CAF Confederation Cup title against South Africa's Orlando Pirates in the semifinals.

"Ahly team combines good, experienced players and good youngsters. All team members are physically ready, confident and responsible," Zizo concluded.
