Morocco, Zambia, DR Congo and Uganda secured a place in the final round of World Cup qualifiers Sunday after claiming positive results in the second-leg of the African qualifiers.
Despite their 1-0 loss to Equatorial Guinea, Morocco advanced into the final round as they won the first-leg at home 2-0 claiming a 2-1 win on aggregate.
Zambia, who won the first leg away four days earlier, claimed another 2-0 win over Sudan in the second leg at home to go through to the group stage phase with a 3-0 aggregate win.
Lubambo Musonda and Winston Kalengo scored the two goals in the 59th and 81st minutes respectively.
Similar were DR Congo, who won the first-leg away 3-2 but were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Burundi.
Jordan N'Kololo opened the scoring for the hosts in the 19th minute before DR Congo defender scored an own goal giving the visitors the chance to level the score.
Yannick Bolasie made it 2-1 for DR Congo after converting a penalty in the 77th minute, but Burundi midfielder Fiston Abdul Razak scored the equaliser 10 minutes later.
DR Congo reached the World Cup qualifiers group stage with a 5-4 win on aggregate.
Earlier in the day Uganda defeated Togo 3-0 at home to advance to the final round of the World Cup qualifiers with a 4-0 win on aggregate.
Geoffrey Massa opened the scoring in the fourth minute while Farouk Miya completed the rout with his brace in the 41st and 45th minutes respectively.
