Leicester City's Algerian forward Riyad Mahrez said on Thursday he is flattered after being linked with a move to Premier League champions Chelsea, but added he is focused now with his side.

"It is a great honor to be linked with a great team like Chelsea," Mahrez told Algerian newspaper Elheddaf.

"It is normal with my good performance to be a target for other sides."

"but I am focused with my side and my current target is to help Leicester earn more success."

The Algerian international made headlines after his strong performance in the Premier League scoring 13 goals and contributing seven assists in 21 league appearances, driving Leicester to an unlikely title challenge as they share the League summit with Arsenal.

It was reported on Wednesday that Chelsea are preparing a £15million bid plus their Ghanian winger Christian Atsu to lure the Algerian player.

Asked about his future with Leicester City, the 24-year-old said that he has three seasons and half remaining on his contract and he does not "know what will happen in the future."

"I am still under contract with Leicester City," Mahrez stressed.

"I think that all things will be clear after the end of this season."
