For the first time in nine months, Egypt's coach Hector Cuper called-up Ittihad of Jeddah winger Mahmoud 'Kahraba' Abdel-Moneim for next month's World Cup qualifier against Congo.

Egypt to launch their campaign in the World Cup qualifiers on 9 October when they face Congo away.

It is the first call-up for the 23-year-old since January when he played with the Pharaohs in a friendly against Libya.

Kahraba - who was loaned from Zamalek to the Saudi side this summer - produced a string of strong displays in the Saudi league, including a blistering performance against Al-Wehda last Sunday when he scored four goals.

Cuper kept almost the same group of foreign-based players who featured in the last two freindlies against Guinea and South Africa earlier this month.

Barnsley's midfielder Sam Morsy who was called up for the first time to play against Guinea was dropped from the list due to administrative issues.

The list of the home-based players will be announced later this month.

Egypt who are looking for their first Cup appearance since 1990, were drawn in Group G alongside Ghana, Congo and Uganda with the group leaders book his ticket in the 2018 World Cup.

The nine players:

Ahmed Elmohamady (Hull City, England), Mohamed Abdel-Shafi (Ahly Jeddah, KSA), Omar Gaber (Basel, Switzerland),  Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet (Mouscron, Belgium), Mohamed El-Neny (Arsenal, England), Mohamed Salah (Roma, Italy), Ramadan Sobhi (Stoke City, England), Ahmed Hassan "Kouka" (Braga, Portugal), Mahmoud 'Kahraba' Abdel-Moneam (Ittihad Jeddah)
