84' Gennesh comes out of goal in time to thwart Tau who could've been through on goal!

83' Fathi evades several challengers before striking towards goal but the threat is contained!!

80' A dangerous team-move from Sundowns ends up with Hamed clearing away from inside the box.

75' Mostafa Fathi replaces striker Morsi for Zamalek's last substitution of the game.

74' Tawfik goes into the referee's book after committing a foul in his right-back position.  

72' Bassem Morsi strikes narrowly wide in what initially seemed to be a promising chance for Zamalek.

14:45 Zamalek fans will be particularly fearing the use of Maarouf at left-back, with the Nigerian's defensive qualities not quite suiting the role.

12:15 After last lifting the trophy in 2002, Zamalek managed to qualify for the final for the first time since then—their best achievement coming in 2005 when they were ousted by arch-rivals Ahly from the semis.

11:45 Five-time Champions League holders Zamalek will be looking for their sixth African title when they visit South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns for the competition's final first leg in Pretoria on Saturday.
