Zamalek winger Mostafa Fathi is set to join Italian Serie A side Torino on loan until the end of the season, the club's chairman Mortada Mansour said on Wednesday.

"The club have accepted an offer from Torino to sign Fathi on a six-month loan deal for 700,000 euros," Mansour said in a brief statement on Zamalek's official website.

The Cairo giants did not specify whether Torino would have an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

Reports are also suggesting Torino might not be able to sign Fathi in January despite Zamalek's announcement, given that they already landed two non-EU players in Juan Iturbe, who joined from Roma, and Brazilian defender Carlão who arrived from APOEL Nicosia.

Fathi, renowned for his outstanding dribbling skills and ability to evade opponents in one-on-one situations, has established himself as one of Zamalek's key players since joining the club as a teenager in 2013.

The 22-year-old came under the spotlight after some superb performances in the 2014/15 season, helping them win a rare domestic double (the Egyptian League and Egypt Cup titles).

He also played an instrumental role in guiding Zamalek to the Egypt Cup title last season; scoring the third goal in a 3-1 win over rivals Ahly.

This is not the first time a Serie A club have shown interest in Fathi.

In June, Bologna offered a 400,000 euro one-year loan bid to sign Fathi; an offer that was rejected by Zamalek, who were unwilling to accept less than 4 million euros to let him go.

The Egyptian international will miss the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon due to injury.
