Egypt and Ahly midfielder Abdallah El-Saied
Ahly trio Ahmed Fathi, Abdallah El-Said and Ahmed Hegazy have been cleared fit and eligible to play against the Arab Contractors on 19 February, read a statement on the club's official website.
The key Ahly players, who were part of Egypt’s national team squad in the 2017 African Cup of Nations, were sidelined for the goalless draw against Ismaily after playing all of Egypt's matches during the continental tournament in Gabon.
“Coach Hossam El-Badry preferred giving the players a break in order to avoid fatigue, as they were also selected to start the Super Cup loss against Zamalek on 10 February,” the statement added.
The Cairo giants' medical staff declared that the trio will join their teammates in the normal training sessions on Thursday.
Ahly are aiming to maintain their position at the top of the Egyptian Premier League table with 46 points, five ahead of second place Maqassa who have a game in hand.
