Holders Zamalek claimed an easy 2-0 victory over lower-tier Olympic in the Egypt Cup round of 32 at Cairo's Petrosport Stadium on Friday.
In an insipid match, Zamalek needed two-second half goals from striker Bassem Morsi and midfielder Mahmoud Abdel-Aati to overcome their lowly opponents.
After failing to breakdown the Alexandrians throughout the first half, striker Morsi headed his side in front in the 51st minute before a screamer from Abdel-Aati from distance ensured the win nine minutes from time.
It is the first goal for midfielder Abdel-Aati, who is nicknamed Dunga after the former Brazil star, in a Zamalek shirt after joining in the summer from Maqassa.
The Whites, Egypt Cup champions for the past four seasons, meet another Alexandrian side in Haras El-Hodoud in the last 16.
