Bidvest Wits forward Thabang Monare said Thursday he is sure his side will claim a positive result in Cairo where they face Ahly in the first-leg of the Champions League Round 32 Saturday, adding his side should learn from PSG's 6-1 defeat against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League Round 16.
Barcelona made a historic comeback against PSG Saturday when they succeeded to overturn their first-leg 4-0 defeat with a 6-1 win in the second-leg Wednesday in a game that saw a defensive plan from the French side.
"We are going there to play our normal game. We saw what PSG did yesterday against Barcelona and we won't do that mistake of sitting back,” Monare said.
The 27-year-old added that his side respects Ahly but is not scared of them, refusing to consider his side as underdogs in Saturday's clash.
"We are not scared of them, but we respect them as one of the biggest teams in Africa,” Monare told KickOff.com on Thursday
"We are going there aware that we should be on our toes if we hope for a good result."
Ahly are bidding for their ninth Champions League title, while Bidvest Wits have failed to make it past the group stage.
