Zambian side Zanaco moved top of their African Champions League group after striking in stoppage time for a 1-0 victory away to Cameroon's Coton Sport on Wednesday.

Saith Sakala collected a pass from Augustine Mulenga in the area to fire home into the corner of the net as Zanaco moved a step closer to ensuring their place in the last eight of Africa's elite club competition.

Surprise package Zanaco have 10 points from four games, three ahead of second-placed Ahly of Egypt and four clear of Morocco's Wydad Casablanca. Coton Sport lie at the bottom with no points following four defeats.

Wydad threw the group race wide open after two second-half goals gave them a precious 2-0 home victory over Ahly, who were largely toothless, on Tuesday.

Ahly will be desperate to avoid a defeat in their next game at Zanaco while Wydad face Coton Sport in Garoua.
