The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has announced that it reached an agreement with their Kuwaiti counterpart to hold a friendly game on 26 May in Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium, amid the Pharaohs’ preparation for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The Egyptian national team, under the guidance of Argentinean coach Hector Cuper, will hold two training camps in March and May to prepare for the competition they missed for 28 years.

The March camp will be held in Switzerland where the team will play two games; the first against Portugal on 23 March and the second four days later against Greece.

During the last three months, the EFA has approached many counterparts to face in pre-operational games, including Belgium, Mexico, Poland and Belarus, but only the Portugal and Greece games are confirmed.

The World Cup draw, announced on 1 December, put Egypt in group A with the hosts Russia and fellow Arab team Saudi Arabia, with the kick-off against powerful Uruguay.
