Aston Villa's winger Ahmed Elmohamady has joined Egypt's training camp ahead of Friday's friendly match against Colombia. This comes as the Pharaohs prepare for the World Cup, which kicks off on 14 June in Russia.
"The national team will have two training sessions on Tuesday. Twenty eight players will be available as Elmohamady joined his teammates Monday night," read a statement on the Egyptian Football Association's (EFA) official facebook page.
Last Friday, Egypt held to a 1-1 draw against hosts Kuwait in the first friendly game of the team's final preparatory camp for the World Cup.
Elmohamady and Liverpool star Mohamed Salah did not appear in the game due to commitments with their clubs. Salah is currently the only absentee player, after picking up a shoulder injury in Saturday's UEFA Champions league final that will sideline him for three weeks.
On Friday, Hector Cuper’s men will take on Colombia in the Italian city of Bergamo, then Belgium in Brussels on 6 June, in the last two warm-up matches.
In late March, Egypt lost to Portugal and Greece in two friendly matches held during their first training camp in Switzerland.
Egypt will kick off their World Cup campaign on 15 June in Group A against Uruguay, then face hosts Russia on 19 June. Their final group stage match will be against Saudi Arabia on 25 June.
The seven-time African champions have reached the World Cup this year for the first time since 1990.
