Egyptian giants Ahly said on Tuesday that up to 42,000 of their supporters would be allowed to attend the African Champions League final against Tunisian side Esperance in Alexandria on Friday.

Ahly host Tunisia's Esperance in the first-leg of the final at Alexandria's 86,000-seat Borg El-Arab Stadium, with the second leg taking place a week later in Rades, Tunis.

The club said on their official website that they were given the green light by security officials to host 50,000 supporters, with 8,000 tickets allocated for the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Ahly said that they are still in talks with security officials to increase the number of fans to 60,000.

The eight-time African champions are eyeing their first Champions League title since 2013.
