Egypt and Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah has been included in the list of Time's Most Influential People in 2019, unveiled Wednesday.

The 26-year-old forward was named under the “Titans” label and is the only footballer on the list.

Salah has been a phenomenon in the English Premier League since joining Liverpool in summer of 2017.

He won the Premier League top scorer and best player awards last season and came third in the FIFA Best Player Award for 2018.

The Egyptian King, as he is nicknamed by the media, is also an inspiration in Liverpool’s campaign to win their first Premier League title since 1990.

But Salah hasn’t just been selected for sporting reasons only.

“Mo Salah is a better human being than he is a football player. And he’s one of the best football players in the world,” John Oliver, host of HBO’s Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, wrote, commenting on him

“Mo is an iconic figure for Egyptians, Scousers and Muslims the world over, and yet he always comes across as a humble, thoughtful, funny man who isn’t taking any of this too seriously,” he added.

Humble and known for his generous acts of charity, Salah became an inspiration for youth around the world.
