Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp has praised the performance of his team's Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, saying he is a “role model” for those inside and outside the game.
The Egypt and Liverpool winger was included in Time magazine’s Most Influential People in 2019, unveiled on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old forward was named as one of the list’s “Titans”, and is the only footballer on the list.
“He’s a role model in so many different things,” said the Liverpool boss at the press conference ahead of the game against Cardiff City in the English Premier League.
“It’s nice to have someone around full of joy, full of love…in the middle of the dressing room, [he’s] sensationally good with all the boys.
“He’s influential for us, and so if someone thought he’s influential for the rest of the world, then good.”
Salah has been a phenomenon in the English Premier League since joining Liverpool in the summer of 2017.
He won the Premier League top scorer and best player awards last season and came third in the FIFA Best Player Award for 2018.
The Egyptian king, as he has been nicknamed by the media, is also a leading force in Liverpool’s campaign to win their first Premier League title since 1990.
