Egypt’s volleyball team dealt their second defeat in the 2019 Volleyball World Cup in Japan on Saturday, losing to Canada 3-2.
The Canadian team got the upper hand early; winning the first and second sets 27-25 and 27-25, respectively.
However, Egypt restored some balance to win the third and fourth sets with scores of 25-16 and 25-22, before losing the final one 15-9.
The Pharaohs won their first two opening matches against Australia and Iran before losing in the third to Brazil on Friday.
Despite the loss to Canada, Egypt earned one point to jump to the fourth place with seven points.
Egypt will be facing Russia in their next game on Sunday at 4am Cairo local time (GMT+2).
The 2019 edition of the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup features 12 national teams from the five continental confederations and is taking place in Nagano, Fukuoka and Hiroshima from 1 to 15 October.
