CAF and FIFA legends shine in front of great pyramids ahead of CAF Awards

The great pyramids of Egypt witnessed a friendly game including a number of African and international legends this afternoon on the sidelines of Egypt hosting the 2019 CAF Awards ceremony scheduled for Tuesday in the coastal city of Hurghada.

The blue team captained by FIFA president Gianni Infantino won the game 4-3, after defeating the white team led by Confederation of African Football president Ahmad Ahmad.

The exhibition game included Zamalek and Tottenham Hotspur’s former star Ahmed Hossam 'Mido', Egypt's Ahmed Hassan, Ahly and the national team’s former solid defender Wael Gomaa, Liverpool and Senegal's legend El-Hadji Diouf, Argentina's Juan Sebastian Veron, World Cup champion Brazil's Cafu, Algeria's legend Rabeh Madjer and many other African and world football former stars.

The current Maqassa coach Mido scored the first goal in the game with an outstanding back heel that impressed the whole audience

Egyptian stars Mohamed Salah of Liverpool and midfielder Tarek Hamed of Zamalek have been included in CAF’s shortlist of nominees for the 28th edition of the annual football
awards that celebrate the best African footballers and officials of each year.
