Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has dismissed rumours that team star Mohamed Salah could be departing the Reds in the next summer transfer window, believing the Pharaohs' winger wants to remain with Liverpool.

"I would think so, did you hear something different?" Klopp was quoted as saying by Liverpool Echo when he was asked if he thought Salah would still be with Liverpool for the start of next season.

"It looks to me like he is really settled, to be honest.

"I have no idea, actually, but you could ask me the same question for all the others and I have no idea. I didn't think about it until [the press] asked me," the Liverpool coach added.

The 27-year -old Salah has delivered outstanding performances since joining the Reds, winning three titles, the Champions League as well as the European Super Cup last season before clinching the Club World Cup title last month.

The former Chelsea and AS Roma player, who ended the Premiere League competition as the top scorer in the last two seasons, has scored 12 goals in 21 league appearances with Liverpool so far this season.

Salah's 12th goal came from a penalty in Wednesday's 2-0 league win over West Ham United.

"As long as I don't hear anything and I don't ask the players what they think of next season or in two years, for me, it looks like [he will stay]," Klopp explained ahead of hosting league rivals Southampton at Anfield on Saturday.

"How long is his contract? Long? I would [think so] yes, but I have no idea," he concluded.

Liverpool currently lead the Premier League table with 70 points from 24 matches, 19 points ahead of second-place Manchester City.
