The Ultras groups of Cairo rivals Ahly and Zamalek have warned Egyptian authorities against disregarding the Port Said disaster, which left 74 fans dead and hundreds injured on the first of February.
Describing their meeting as "historic," the once bitter foes congregated in Cairo's Nasr City on Sunday to discuss the latest developments in Egypt's worst-ever football disaster.
They released a strongly-worded statement afterwards, demanding that Egyptian authorities swiftly bring the culprits to justice.
"We demand full transparency in revealing the outcome of the investigations. We will neither accept disregarding the disaster and turning it into football riots nor making a scapegoat to protect those who orchestrated the attacks," the statement read.
"We will not accept wrongful accusations against anyone because he just belongs to the Ultras groups. We will also not allow any football activities to resume unless complete justice is done."
All domestic football activities have been suspended since the tragedy. Zamalek are the only Egyptian team to play a competitive game ever since, having defeated Tanzania's Young Africans in the African Champions League preliminary round.
The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) called off the Premier League on Saturday, saying it will hold a friendly tournament featuring 18 teams instead.
"When those demands are fulfilled, we will reject any repressive policy against Egyptian football fans in general, specifically the Ultras groups," the statement added.
"We are ready to sacrifice our lives for the sake of our country."
