Egypt and Liverpool star Mohamed Salah admitted that he was worried over the Premier League's fate last season as the coronavirus pandemic forced a lengthy stoppage and cast doubts over whether the competition would be resumed.

The conflicting reports in the British media and elsewhere have caused stress at the time, Salah told BBC Sport on Saturday.

Liverpool's title was disrupted due to the Covid-19 outbreak. The Premier League was suspended in March for three months before it resumed in June, helping the Reds regain their domination to win their first title in 30 years.

Since joining Liverpool in 2017, Salah has led the Reds to a Champions League victory in 2019, Super Cup and Club World Cup titles in 2019 before claiming the Premier League title last season.

The 28-year-old has shattered most of the scoring records for Liverpool and claimed back-to-back Premier League Golden Boot awards in 2018 and 2019.

Meanwhile, Salah said he is enjoying the quality time he is spending with his family.
