Ahly fans will get a taste of how life would be following the departure of Swiss coach Rene Weiler and the arrival of Pitso Mosimane as the South African boss begins his new adventure on Sunday.

The Egyptian champions, who are only chasing records after wrapping up their fifth consecutive title with six rounds to spare last month, will make use of their remaining four matches to help Mosimane get familiar with the team before a crucial African Champions League encounter.

Ahly meet Morocco's Wydad in a two-legged semifinal later this month, with Ahly targeting their first Champions League crown since winning the last of their record eight titles in 2013.

Mosimane left South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns after eight trophy-laden years, which saw him win the domestic league five times and the Champions League once.

"I know the responsibilities of my work here. I know the pressures and stresses … but I'm a football coach, I'm trained to deal with pressures," he told a news conference on Saturday.

Arab Contractors could give the 56-year-old a tough first test as they enjoy a fine season, lying fourth in the table with 52 points, five behind third-placed Pyramids FC.

Mosimane's first squad selection saw him restore out-of-favour playmaker Saleh Gomaa, whose numerous disciplinary problems kept him out of the team for long.

But Ahly will miss a number of regulars, with the likes of defender Rami Rabia and Nigerian forward Junior Ajayi nursing injuries while key left-back Ali Maaloul is missing due to his international commitments with Tunisia.
