Ahly, Zamalek to play Egypt Cup quarterfinals six days before CAF Champions League final

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced Thursday that the remaining games of the Egypt Cup quarterfinals will be played 21 November. 

Ahly will face Abu Qir FC while Zamalek will play FC Masr, only six days before the Cairo giants face off in the CAF Champions League final game. 

Ahly booked their place in the Egypt Cup quarterfinals after beating Tersana 2-1 in the last 16, while Zamalek defeated Smouha 2-1 in the same round. 

Talae El-Gaish and Ittihad of Alexandria booked their places in the domestic competition semifinals after beating Pyramids FC and Arab Contractors respectively last month, while the Ahly and Zamalek games were postponed due to their participation in the CAF Champions League. 

Ahly will face Zamalek in the CAF Champions League final 27 November.
