Despite collecting two points so far from two disappointing draws in Africa Champions League group stage, Zamalek Moroccan winger Achraf Bencharki promised the team's supporters to win the continental trophy this season.
"We lost the CAF Champions League title last season, but this year I promise Zamalek' fans to win it this time," Bencharki told a television programme late on Wednesday.
Zamalek lost 2-1 to arch-rivals Ahly in the final game of the African Champions League last season.
The Whites were given a free pass to the 2021 CAF Champions League group stage after their opponents Gazelle FC of Chad failed to arrive in Cairo on time.
The Cairo side opened their mission in the group stage at home with the goalless draw by Algeria’s MC Alger before repeating the same result away from home away to debutants Teungueth of Senegal.
Zamalek, who lead the teams' table of the Egyptian Premier League, are scheduled to face Wadi Degla in the 14th matchday of the domestic competition on Monday.
