Ahly football team arrived in DR Congo early on Saturday for a tough game against Vita Club in the 4th round of African Champions League group stage on Tuesday.

The Cairo giants traveled to Kinshasa in a private jet to get an early start on preparations for the expected crunch showdown.

Ahly have to beat Vita Club in Kinshasa to secure a place in the prestigious tournament's quarterfinals after the disappointing 2-2 draw at Cairo International stadium in the 3rd round of Group A games last week.

Ahly are currently placed third in Group A, sharing the same four points with second placed Vita Club after both teams played three games so far in the group stage.

"We have no choice but to beat Vita Club at Congo. We put ourselves in this difficult situation. I believe in my team as the most important thing is how to finish the group stage." Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane said.

Surprise packageTanzanian side Simba S.C are in the driving seat of Group A with 7 points, while Al Merrikh of Sudan are in the tail with only one point.

Ahly will continue to do without influential left-back Ali Maaloul, who is facing up to three more weeks on the sidelines after aggravating a hamstring injury sustained last month.
