Galatasaray’s Egyptian striker Mostafa Mohamed says he is ready for the anticipated Turkish League derby against Besiktas, insisting that his club is ready to fight for the title until the final round.

“Besiktas is one of the best teams of the season. We know the situation of our opponent,” Mohamed told Turkish website Ensonhaber on Wednesday.

Third-placed Galatasaray will be hosting leaders Besiktas on Saturday as the competition is close to its end with the last three decisive rounds of the tournament to be played within a week.

Besiktas leads the table with 81 points from 37 matches, six ahead of Galatasaray.

“We have a good opportunity as we will play on our field and we want to use this advantage and win in the derby,” the Egyptian international explained.

“We will send Besiktas out from here without points and continue the championship race.

“Galatasaray will continue its campaign until the last match. Nobody should have a doubt about it,” he concluded.

The 23-year-old striker Mohamed has taken Turkish football by storm since joining from Cairo giants Zamalek last February on a one-and-a-half-year loan deal, netting six goals in 13 league appearances with Galatasaray.
