Kaizer Chiefs’ winger Khama Billiat revealed on Sunday that his team is preparing tactics ahead of the African Champions League encounter against Egypt’s Ahly, confirming he is optimistic to claim a positive result against the title holders.

The Amakhosis will have a mountain to climb when they face defending champions and nine-time African champions Ahly in the final, which will be held in Morocco on 17 July.

“We are 90 minutes away from winning the big cup that every team in Africa is bidding to claim,” Billiat told the club’s media centre.

“We are counting on one or two tactics that could make a difference against Ahly in the final and we are ready for the game,”

The 30-year-old Billiat was part of Mamelodi Sundowns when they defeated Egypt’s Zamalek and claimed the 2016 African Cup of Nations title.

“I lived in the same atmosphere before and I understand well the difficulty of the game, and I know the feeling of victory,” Billiat said.

“We will follow the tactics of our coach and I think these tactics will lead us to a brilliant victory against Ahly,” the Zimbabwean forward said.

“We will face a big team in the final,” he added.

The South African side reached their first ever Champions League final after beating Morocco’s Wydad 1-0 on aggregate in a two-legged semi-final, while Ahly booked their place after beating Tunisian giants Esperance 4-0 on aggregate.
