Ahly's striker Emad Meteb has left Thursday's training session to join the national team's preparations for their match against the Central African Republic.

The Cairo giants are preparing to play DR Congo’s TP Mazembe on 8 July in the CAF Champions League. They were also drawn with bitter rivals Zamalek and Berekum Chelsea of Ghana.

They are flying next Saturday to Turkey for a closed training camp.

The training session was attended by Brazilian forward Fabio Junior who had been out with break pain, while midfielder Abdullah El-Said trained individually as he was suffering from fatigue.

Mauritanian marksman Dominic Da Silva was injured during Thursday's session.

“Da Silva will be ready by tomorrow. He was just tired today and this is normal,” club doctor Ehab Ali was quoted as saying on the club’s official website.
